Build A Bat Box

Saturday, May 4, 2019 -
1:00pm to 3:30pm

Did you know that the Little Brown Bat population in Massachusetts has declined by 99%? Or that four of the nine species found here are listed as endangered in the state? This workshop will enable participants to learn all about the only truly flying mammal, why they are so important to our ecosystems, and provide you the opportunity to lend them a helping hand by creating your own bat box! All materials and instruction will be provided and the class will include a walk to show you ideal places for placing your box and other habitat considerations to make your yard bat friendly.

This workshop is limited to 12 participants. The program fee includes the materials for one bat box. Additional participants who do not wish to build their own box may join the program at a fee of $10/member, $13 non-member. Please call the sanctuary to register these additional participants at (508) 927-1200.

Registration is required.
